Neighbors & Friends,
MAKE YOUR VOICES HEARD!!
The Eagle Lakes Developer is attempting to rezone and amend the current Planned Unit Development at Old Kings Road.
If successful, they will now build an 820 unit Mobile Home development instead of what they originally planned – platted homes. While this is in Flagler County, it will greatly affect and impact us, the residents of Volusia County. A county line does not separate water, electric, sewage, and emergency services, like fire & police. And what about roads? Aren’t they crowded enough? They want to add a public golf course too – how is Old Kings Road going to handle that traffic? We need to know the dates of the following studies: Environmental Impact, Drainage, and Traffic Safety and do they reflect the most current development plan.
Our Flagler County neighbors and friends will be impacted even more! Mobile homes do not pay taxes like we pay taxes and the developer pays taxes on a commercial property therefore, the tax revenue from this venture is greatly reduced. They need our help to make sure this does not happen.
This request came before the Planning & Zoning Board on 2/13 and came within a hair’s breadth of passing! Thankfully, and because of people speaking out, it was tabled until the April 10th meeting. If passed, it would have moved on to the County Commissioners for adoption.
Let’s work together to maintain our little piece of paradise and home values. The following meetings are your opportunity to add your voice to this very important issue.
